Philosophy of Political Science Reading Group led by Sarah Kang, Jan 29 @11:00 AM (Zoom)

Dear Philosophers,

Hope you all have a wonderful start to the winter quarter! This winter, the UCSD Philosophy Club is going to run a Philosophy of Political Science Reading Group. Sarah Kang (sgkang@ucsd.edu) is the organizer and leader of the reading group.

The first meeting will start next Friday (Jan 29), 11:00 am. The zoom link is the following:

https://ucsd.zoom.us/j/99122530587
Meeting ID: 991 2253 0587

For the reading group, we usually read a single short paper or an excerpt from a philosopher’s work each week. Each one is selected in advance by a participant. We rotate through each participant before starting again. Feel free to select any pieces of writing you find interesting within the field of philosophy of political science. The first meeting’s reading was selected by Sarah, and it’s Chapter 13from Thomas Hobbes’s Leviathan. Here’s the pdf copy of chapter XIII:

All are welcome. If you are interested in participating, we will be happy to have you!

Please feel free to contact Sarah (sgkang@ucsd.edu) if you have any questions. We are looking forward to seeing you next Friday!
